I have an older hydraulic cylinder that was built by RED LION. The model of the cylinder is 40TR12 – (638158). I was wondering If you could give me ANY information on that cylinder. I was really wanting to see if it had power up/ gravity down or power down? Really ANY information you could provide me would be GREATLY appreciated!

The TR series became the TL series. The direct replacement for the 40TR12 (638158) is the 40TL12-125 (639201). It has a port at either end of the cylinder for power in and out. We do carry the 40TL12-125 Cylinder. If you need to replace it, our part number is 297286. You can a learn more about it by opening the

Do you sell Seal kits for Red Lion cylinders?

We do stock seal kits for Red Lion cylinders. If you don’t have the cylinder part number, we will need to know the shaft diameter, and the cylinder bore.

Part 296986, Hydraulic Cylinder, Red Lion Monarch, TL Series, 2500 PSI, 20TL16-112 will work for you. It is a 16" stroke (which is what yours really is).
